Butterfly

Here is yet another poem:
Butterfly
By Chelsea Pritchett
I don't know what it is about
The butterfly.
Is it the way they flutter and flit?
Or is it the way they land on a delicate
Blade of grass without bending it?
Perhaps it's the marvalouse
Patterns on their wings,
Each and every one, unique.
This question, will I ever find the answer?
I think not!
It is a mystery no scientist
Can figure out.
It is simply a
Work of God!

Ghost Town

Ghost Town
By Chelsea Pritchett
I walk through this
Ghost town
I once called home,
The wind sweeps away my
Fondest memories
Yet, the bird's chirping
Gives me hope,
That there is still life in this
Rugged, ole town
When I turn the corner,
I hear a soft cry.
A little girl, all alone,
Cries for her mother in this
Ghost town
As I cradle her in my arms,
She lets me know,
There is still hope in this
Ghost town,
And life will soon stir.
Oh how I love this
Ghost town.
This poem "Ghost Town" came to my thoughts one day as
I was listening to the news. They were talking about the Hurricanes and
how New Orleans was once again a ghost town.I thought about writing a poem called ghost town, and I did. I love writing poetry, I find joy in it.

Cleansing Feeling of a Tidy Room

Today, I was faced with the challenge to go through my stuff on my shelf. I need some good shelves. Before I went through my stuff, I had these metal shelves that I wasn't to fond of. While I was going through my ( I need another word for stuff) I found quite a few things I was looking for. I have to admit, as much as I didn't want to, it does feel good to have clean out my shelves. Now, instead of metal shelves, I now have crates. They are much better. Next, I must go through my, um, watchamucallit...oh yes my vanity thing. After that, it's my dresser, then my closet. My room with be very neat and clean when I finish all of this.

I didn't have school today, due to professional development day for the teachers.I was ecstatic about this, because I've been wanting to sleep in and...well sleep in. This also gave me time to do the above.

I went to the Greek Festivalthis past weekend in Birmingham, Al. It was extremely fun!!!!! I went with Whitney and her uncle Tim. We had a lamb gyro(yee-ro:pronunciation) and greek salad. By the way, is it pronunciation or pronounciation? The gyro was good, but not my favorite. At the festival, there was dancing, people selling jewelry, scarves, handmade items, and many other things. There were Greek dancers, and to watch them dance was very, what's the word, exilerating. It was extremely crowded. Well I must go eat dinner.

Too much talk about football

It seems like all I talk about on this blog is football. I'll try to be better about that. I don't always have time during the week to post, with school, dance, after school things. It sounds like a lot but it's really not. I love dancing.I take modern, tap, and ballet. I love all three. I just started last year, after watching variouse movies, I decided it would be fun to take dance. I did take dance when I was about 4 years old, but obviously it didn't last. last year I had taken ballet and tap, and this year I thought I would see what kind of dancing modern was. It's a very loose dancing, and almost free style, in a way. I am enjoying a lot. You know, I never know how to end my posts. I've never been good at finshing statements. So this will be my ending statment.

Good Game for Franklin

Last Friday Franklin beat Independance, and I believe the score was 35-10.
Independance started three years ago, so this year they only have juniors (10), since the school started out with only 9th graders. UNfortunatly Independance lost one of their players due to an aweful car wreck. People were very respectful at the game. To make the game fair, the coaches played the second and maybe third teams(or strings). At the beginning of the game, though, Seniors did get to play.
We were glad we won!

A Poem for You

Here is a poem:

Look into my eyes,
My deepest secrets
Are revealed within
The one I love,
He shall never know
Lest he should look
Deep, then my secret
Is no more.

Not a Good Game

Franklin did not play a good game at all last night. The final score was 14-27. People think that the our football players were thinking that Father Ryan was going to be an easy game, and that Father Ryan really wanted to win...and they did. I'm pretty sure though, that this game was not a region game and it didn't count? I'm not completely sure. Also, another reason they didn't play to well is because they only practiced twice that week. Hopefully they will do better next week. OH!!!! Next week is Caleb's 16th birthday!

Our first loss

Last Friday night, Franklin High School played a hard game. I do have to say it was not there best playing. Unfortunatly, we lost in double over time by 1 point. I do have good news, we have gained a few players from Mississippi I believe. One of the players is 6' 4" and 280 pounds. He's a senior, so we are happy for him and our team. the Next game is tomorrow night!!!
